Looking for something to help you justify that whopping $649 Nexus 6 price tag? Yeah, us too. Well, how's this: the Nexus 6 is water-resistant. Probably not submersible, but at least splash-proof like the new Moto X.
The Google product page doesn't call out water resistance specifically, but Motorola's page is a little more detailed. Right down at the bottom under "Water Resistant" is says "Yes." That's pretty clear. It's the same for the Moto X, which doesn't have an official IP rating. It's just generally splash-resistant. So at the very least, this is one $649 phone that will not spontaneously combust if you get it a little wet.
We reached out to Google to ask about any specifics on the water-resistant situation. There will be an update if we hear back.
